Weigner Presentation to Benefit Cancer Center

Cheyenne, WY – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming will host Brent Weigner, “Wyoming’s Marathon Man”, for a presentation on his recent completion of the 2013 Mt. Everest Marathon and other worldwide races. The event, which will benefit the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, will be held at the Laramie County Public Library on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room.

Brent Weigner is no new comer to extreme races. In 1999, he became the first person to run ultra marathons on all seven continents. Many in Cheyenne will know him as a former geography teacher and cross-country coach at McCormick Junior High School. This remarkable man has completed 218 marathons and ultra marathons around the world including races in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Weigner is also a three-time cancer survivor and is currently committed to raising funds for the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center. Those who are interested in helping him with this commitment may make a donation by visiting http://cheyennegiving.org/.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming encourages the public to attend for what promises to be an inspirational evening. RSVP’s to http://wyomingsmarathonman.eventbrite.com are appreciated but not required.
