Starting February 24, 2021, you can begin uploading documents that you need to submit to BCBSWY through Availity. Documents for appeals, corrected claims, medical records (for reasons other than Prior Authorizations) or invoices can be uploaded through Availity. This is a great alternative to faxing or mailing documents and is more efficient since it provides a record of the date the documents were received and downloaded and make s it easier to track documentation of submission dates.

Inpatient Prior Authorizations & Concurrent Review Update
Beginning April 1st , 2021 all inpatient hospital prior authorizations and concurrent reviews for BCBSWY members should be submitted through the Availity portal. To assist our providers with this transition BCBSWY will be offering three training sessions in February and March. To register please contact Provider Relations at [email protected] . If you are unable to attend any of these trainings let us know and we can set up an individual session.
