CHEYENNE, WY – With the availability of more cost assistance than ever, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming encourages eligible Wyoming residents to see what health insurance options are available before open enrollment ends on December 15. There may be coverage options that can dramatically lower monthly costs.
The open enrollment period for signing up or changing health insurance plans is much shorter this year, from November 1 to December 15, 2017. While rates for 2018 plans may be higher, the cost assistance available for eligible consumers in 2018 has increased dramatically and may result in lower premiums than paid in 2017.
“The most important thing you can do is to investigate what is available as soon as possible,” said Rick Schum, CEO and President. To find out if you are eligible for lower prices or if there are plans with lower costs, visit HealthCare.gov or call 800-318-2596; reach a Wyoming Navigator by calling 211; or call 800-851-2227 to reach a local Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming representative.
Schum said BCBSWY was surprised at the level of cost assistance available to those who qualify. “For example,” he said, “a single individual with an annual income of $48,000 could find a plan for as low as $94 per month. Two adults with two children and an annual income of $97,500 could qualify for a plan with a zero-dollar premium.”
