Since 1945, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming has been here to support generations across Wyoming. That’s 80 years of calling Wyoming home and standing alongside their neighbors, families, businesses, and communities. This summer BCBSWY will celebrate this milestone by hosting member appreciation events across the state.

Founded in 1945 with a mission to make quality health care accessible, BCBCWY has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of its members. From its humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in health insurance, the company has remained steadfast in its commitment to integrity, compassion, and trust.

Celebrations across the state reflect the roots of BCBSWY – one filled with the spirit of the West, the resilience of its founders, and a nod to the cowboy boots that have walked this journey.

In Cheyenne, a commemorative “Big Boot” will be unveiled in late June, kicking the celebration season into high gear. BCBSWY worked with the Cheyenne Depot Museum and commissioned Wyoming artist, James Overstreet, to create a custom boot for its Cheyenne headquarters. Seven commemorative mini boots will also be created and placed at member centers across the state to celebrate our continued connection and commitment to Wyoming.
