Effective February 1, 2021 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming is implementing changes to its reimbursement, particularly in the areas of Evaluation and Management and Medicine.
The new reimbursement:
- incorporates recent CMS changes to E&M code definitions,
- accomplishes a full conversion of all E&M and Medicine codes to national RBRVS, and
- recognizes place of service.
Adjusting to a single weight set means increases to some codes and decreases to others. Overall, our goal with this change is to continue to increase E M reimbursement, as we have for the past two years. We estimate the reimbursement changes will result in a 5% overall increase in reimbursement for E &M and Medicine
