Prior Authorization Submission Changes (Effective October 1)

Effective October 1, 2026, all Wyoming providers are required to submit initial prior authorization and concurrent review requests through Availity. Faxed requests from in-state providers will no longer be accepted after this date.

Out-of-state providers associated with skilled nursing facilities, acute rehabilitation facilities, transitional care units, swing bed facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals are encouraged to utilize Availity. Use the platform to submit authorization requests, concurrent review requests, and discharge notifications. Out of State Providers who are unable to use Availity should fax requests and notifications to 307-432-2917.

Please note that discharge notifications for Wyoming providers cannot be processed through Availity at this time. Continue to submit discharge notifications by fax to 307-432-2917. Effective immediately, requests sent to the previous fax number, 307-778-8582, will not be processed.

Medications dispensed through a pharmacy are not impacted by this update and can continue to be submitted for Prior Authorization via fax.

Provider Directory Validation Reminder

You can find the Provider Directory Validation guide under the Provider Resources section on the right rail of the website.

Providers can use the Directory Validation tool on the Availity Portal to find NPI and tax ID combinations.
