To ensure timely reimbursement for COVID-19 vaccine administration , we remind you to use the accurate vaccine codes .
The AMA has developed a free tool to help determine the appropriate CPT code combination for the type and dose of vaccine that you are using. It uses a series of questions to help you arrive at the appropriate code. These codes incorporate the specialized tracking needs of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid by identifying two code groups. One group identifies a specific vaccine product and the other provides a vaccine administration code that is both vaccine and dose specific.
