BCBSWY employees donate gifts to kids

For the fourth year, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming (BCBSWY) continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer when it packed up donated gifts destined for local children in need on Tuesday, December 10, at the company’s headquarters at 4000 House Avenue in Cheyenne.

Through the years, this community sharing program has brought smiles to the faces of Laramie County School District (LCSD) #1 elementary, junior high and senior high school students. The program is coordinated by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming Employee Benefit Association. This group works closely with representatives at LCSD #1 who assist with distribution of the gifts.

“All of our employees look forward to participating every year”, said Karen Rich, Director of Public Affairs. “BCBSWY has always had a strong spirit of giving to the community, and knowing that we are able to bring joy to so many children during the holiday season makes this effort very special.”

BCBSWY employees volunteer to purchase and wrap gifts from unidentified students’ wish lists. This year, approximately 200 of our employees worked together to purchase gifts for 28 families which includes 67 children. Gifts were delivered to LCSD #1 schools on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
