Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or commensurate experience preferred (for non-exempt level).

Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or commensurate experience.  Educational discipline may vary, however, Business Administration, Communications, Computer Science/Information Technology, Finance, Management, Mathematics/ Statistics preferable (for exempt level).

Various levels of experience will be considered.  However work experience preferably in the field of healthcare and/or work experience in an office environment recommended. Pay, pay grade and exemption status will be determined based on education and work experience.

General Purpose

Professional Trainees are hired from various professional disciplines and educational backgrounds for the purpose of ensuring a pool of talent for developing future professional and/or management capability. As dictated by the needs of the company, duties of the Professional Trainee may differ significantly and will focus on the activities of one or more department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works towards quality initiatives.
  • Expands on current knowledge, skill and ability in order to learn technical requirements essential to completion of departmental job responsibilities.
  • Conducts research as requested by department head or as necessary in order to learn about the department, company, providers, customers, and product line.
  • Applies newly acquired knowledge and concepts to daily work activities.
  • Completes special projects and/or assignments in a timely manner.
  • Under guidance of department head, actively participates in the daily operation of the assigned department(s).
  • May function as team leader or member of various work groups and/or special committees.
  • As directed by department head, may assist with specified duties associated with daily management of assigned department(s).
  • May be required to make presentations to groups.
  • Must provide reports, spreadsheets, and other written and/or verbal communication as requested.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Using tact and diplomacy, may question existing methodology.
  • Under authority of senior management, may develop and recommend for implementation innovative concepts to improve upon existing processes.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill & Ability

Must be adaptable to change and willing to learn.  Strong business, finance, data management and analytical skills are preferred. In general, job activities may include but are not limited to project understanding and analysis, team participation and/or leadership, good written and oral skills, use of calculator, PC, and other basic office equipment.  Must be able to accomplish objectives in finite periods of time, accommodate multiple tasks and adapt to stressful situations.  Valid driver’s license required.  Other knowledge, skill and ability requirements are dependent upon the needs of the specific department to which assigned.

Education, Licensure, or Formal Training

Equipment & Environment

Material & Equipment Directly Used

Personal computer (various levels of exposure to word processing, e-mailing, file formatting, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and/or other computer applications may be expected), calculator, fax machine, photocopier, telephone, and/or scanner.

Working Environment / Physical Activities

Works in an open office environment. Must be able to lift stacks of documents, file boxes, or other items weighing up to 30 pounds. Some travel may be necessary.
