How to Grant Authorizations

Each person's health information is personal and sensitive and protecting this information is extremely important. Federal laws govern who has access to personal information and how it is used. Therefore, permission is required before any of your protected health information can be released to someone other than you.

What is Authorization?
Authorization is giving permission for someone to view and manage your personal health information.
Authorized users can:

  • Access and manage your information online or on the phone
  • Act on your behalf when they contact Member Services
  • Log in to the website using their own username and password

Grant authorization to others through your online account. For access to personal
health information of a covered family member age 18 or older, he or she can register for Online Member Services and grant permission for you to access their health information.
