Work Hours:

  • 40+ per week
  • Office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in computer science, and 5 years experience in related field. Specialized training in Windows Active directory and Servers, PC hardware maintenance would be preferred. Current valid driver’s license may be required.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, provide administrative and technical support for installed computer hardware/ software and phone system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works towards quality initiatives.
  • Assist with maintenance of local area network workstations and physical connections.
  • Maintain telephone system and associated PCs.
  • Assist with maintenance of all corporate data communication lines,
  • Provide backup support for printing systems output.
  • Provide backup support for local area network operating system software, and all network application software, security and access rights.
  • Maintain all personal computer hardware and attached devices.
  • Maintenance and administration of LAN backup system.
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of LAN patch management system.
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of LAN anti-virus/anti-mal-ware systems.
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of VPN connections to regional offices.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist user departments in defining computer hardware and software needs.
  • Maintain computer systems security as defined by corporate policy.
  • Work with host site support personnel to maintain remote applications.
  • Communicate with supervisor, through weekly and special reports, to ensure all associated problems and processing requirements are identified in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Training as needed.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • None.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

Requires knowledge of the VOIP telephone system and related software and hardware.  Microsoft Office and Outlook, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows and Windows Server Operating systems and, general communication protocol.  Programming skills to allow for modification of packaged software startup characteristics, macros.  Diagnostic capabilities for all associated hardware, software, and communication lines.  Good verbal and written communication skills.

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge and experience in a majority of the areas of responsibility is preferred.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Xerox, HP, and Kyocera laser and line printers.
IBM and compatible personal computers.
IBM AS/400.
Novell Netware and/or Novell OES on Ethernet network.
Wide variety of cables, connectors, and associated tools

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Able to lift 50 pounds or more, reach and work above head, bend and crawl to access wiring under desks, manual dexterity to allow for working with personal computer internal components and cable connectors.
